McKegg has split his sixth pro season between the NHL and AHL, logging four points (2g, 2a) in 26 games for Pittsburgh and 12 points (5g, 7a) in 28 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The 25-year-old has amassed 147 points (67g, 80a) over 272 career AHL games with Toronto, Portland, Springfield and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to go along with 13 points (7g, 6a) in 91 NHL games with the Maple Leafs, Panthers, Lightning and Penguins.

Jooris cleared waivers and joined the Checkers earlier this month, notching three helpers in five games with the team.

Additionally, Carolina has assigned forward Lucas Wallmark and defenseman Haydn Fleury to the Checkers on paper. By sending them to Charlotte prior to the 3 p.m. deadline, the two skaters are now eligible to join the Checkers at any point for the remainder of the regular season and postseason.
