With a busy slate of four games this week, the Charlotte Checkers have recalled defenseman Josiah Didier from the ECHL’s Florida Everblades.

This is Didier’s second stint with the Checkers this season, as he recorded one assist and two penalty minutes in four games at the start of the team’s November road trip. In his third full season as a pro, the 24-year-old has logged 104 AHL games, the majority of which came in the Montreal system with St. John’s.

In the ECHL Didier has proven to be a solid piece for the Everblades, notching seven points in 12 games. The Colorado native leads team defensemen in goals and ranks second on the team overall in penalty minutes.

Didier joins the Charlotte blue line after it lost another piece during the most recent road trip, with Dennis Robertson suffering an injury and missing Saturday’s game in Bridgeport. Should Robertson be unable to suit up for Tuesday’s contest, Didier gives the Checkers’ seven healthy options on defense.
