Checkers recall Tyler Ganly
The Checkers have recalled defenseman Tyler Ganly as they prepare for an important two-game series with Bridgeport starting tonight.

The Hurricanes’ sixth-round draft choice in 2013, Ganly has played eight games for Charlotte the season but has spent the bulk of the campaign in the ECHL. The Hurricanes recently assigned Ganly, who had scored 12 points (4g, 8a) and recorded a plus-9 rating in 21 games for the Florida Everblades, to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, for whom he made his debut at Fort Wayne just last night.

The move comes one day after Charlotte defenseman Jake Chelios left a game in Springfield due to injury in the third period and did not return. Should Chelios miss time, Dennis Robertson is most likely to replace him in the lineup, with Ganly adding valuable insurance for the back-to-back contests in Bridgeport.

Charlotte, which has played two more games than its opponent, enters tonight’s game with a seven-point lead over Bridgeport for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.
