The Checkers have returned Jeremy Helvig to the ECHL, assigning the netminder to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

Helvig made his first AHL start on Tuesday, suffering a loss at the hands of the division-leading Hershey Bears. The 22-year-old now returns to Greenville where he is 13-11-3 in 28 games with a 3.65 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage.

The Checkers added a veteran goalie to their roster when Mike Condon was assigned to the team by Tampa Bay. He joins Callum Booth as Charlotte’s goalie tandem while both Alex Nedeljkovic and Anton Forsberg are in the NHL with Carolina.
