Ahead of their Friday night matchup with Nashville, the Hurricanes have recalled Clark Bishop from Charlotte.

This marks the first NHL recall of the season for the 23-year-old forward, who has three assists and is tied for the team lead with a plus-4 rating through 19 games for Charlotte thus far. Bishop made his NHL debut last season and logged three points in 20 regular season games, as well as appearing in a pair of Stanley Cup Playoff contests.

Additionally, the Canes have assigned Eetu Luostarinen to the Checkers. The Finnish forward, who has logged one assist in eight NHL games this season, returns to Charlotte where he has eight points (5g, 3a) in 12 games.

The Checkers, who recently recalled Cedric Lacroix from Greenville, now have 13 healthy forwards heading into a two-game set against Providence beginning Saturday.
