The 25-year-old winger has spent parts of each of the last four seasons in the NHL, registering 37 points (13g, 24a) over 128 games with Carolina. Di Giuseppe has served as a healthy extra for the majority of this season, suiting up for just two games thus far, and cleared waivers earlier this month to allow the Canes to send him to the AHL.

A second-round pick in 2012, Di Giuseppe has logged 158 AHL games with the Checkers over his career and put up 89 points (35g, 54a). In his most recent stint with the team, the forward recorded 12 points (4g, 8a) in 14 games last season.

With the addition of Di Giuseppe, the Checkers currently have 15 healthy options at forward heading into this weekend’s two-game series with Providence.
