The Hurricanes have returned blue liner Roland McKeown and rookie forward Warren Foegele to Charlotte.

Foegele appeared in his first two NHL games earlier this week with Carolina, picking up a goal and an assist in his debut Monday against the Senators then lighting the lamp again the next night in New Jersey.

The 21-year-old has been an offensive force with the Checkers all season, racking up 42 points in 65 games. Foegele’s 26 goals not only rank second on Charlotte overall, but they lead all AHL rookies and stand as the most by any Checker in franchise history.

McKeown returns to Charlotte after being recalled on an emergency basis. The second-year pro appeared in four games for the Hurricanes during his most recent stint, bringing his season total to seven NHL games.

The blue liner, who ranks third in the AHL in plus-minus, set an NHL career high with a +3 rating on Monday against Ottawa.

The Checkers return to action for another two-game road trip starting Friday in Rochester.
