The Carolina Hurricanes reassigned Clark Bishop and Jake Bean to Charlotte just prior to Game 3 of their second-round playoff series against the New York Islanders.

With Jordan Martinook and Andrei Svechnikov healthy enough to return to the Canes’ lineup, the two Checkers, who had recently joined Carolina on an emergency basis, will rejoin the Checkers. Bean has not missed a Checkers playoff game despite multiple recalls to Raleigh this postseason, while Bishop missed the decisive Game 4 triumph over Providence on Friday.

Of the two, only Bishop had made an NHL playoff appearance this season, having suited up for both wins against the Islanders to start this series.

Barring further injuries in Carolina - an unfortunate trend during the NHL club’s playoff run so far – Bean and Bishop will be available when the Checkers host Hershey for the opening game of their own second-round series this Friday.
