The Hurricanes got their lone remaining restricted free agent back Thursday night when they signed Lucas Wallmark to a two-year deal, with the first year being of the two-way variety and the second being a one-way.

The 22-year-old Wallmark led the Checkers in scoring last season with 55 points (17g, 38a) despite only playing 45 AHL games. In fact, no player in the league with more than 10 games played recorded a higher points-per-game average than Wallmark’s 1.22. The Swedish forward also appeared in 11 NHL games for Carolina.

Since making the jump to North America prior to the 2015-16 season, Wallmark has accumulated 101 points (41g, 60a) in 112 games with the Checkers, as well as three points in 19 games with the Hurricanes.

With Greg McKegg signing a new deal Thursday as well, the Hurricanes have now agreed to new deals with each of their qualified players.
