Charlotte Checkers Hartford Wolf Pack
After emerging from a high-scoring first period with a lead, the Checkers let Hartford pull away late in a 5-3 loss on Saturday.

The result marked the Checkers’ first regulation losing streak of the season, with this game coming on the heels of a 2-1 loss in Providence one day earlier. Patrick Brown, Nick Schilkey and Julien Gauthier all had first-period goals for Charlotte, which led the Wolf Pack 3-2 after a frantic opening frame only to allow Hartford to score the next three.

The Checkers’ three-games-in-three days road trip now moves back to Providence, where the teams will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
