The Checkers have assigned forward Carter Sandlak and rookie goaltender Rasmus Tirronen to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
Sandlak heads to the Everblades for the second time this season after tallying four points (1g, 3a) in six games in November. The second-year pro has not played since his return, suffering an injury around the holiday break and being a healthy extra otherwise. Sandlak has one assist in 10 games this season with Charlotte.
This also marks the second ECHL stint this season for Tirronen, who has made three appearances in the crease for Charlotte in their last 18 games. The rookie won both of his starts with Florida, putting up a 1.50 goals-against average and a .946 save percentage. With Charlotte this season, Tirronen is 6-2-1 in 11 appearances with a goal-against average of 3.09 and a .888 save percentage.
