A fifth-round draft pick of the Carolina Hurricanes in 2007, he is one of just five players to have played at least one game in each of the Checkers' five seasons. Terry was a model of consistency with the Checkers, never recording less than 59 points in any of his four seasons in Charlotte prior to this year and never missing a game due to inury. He also ranked in the top 15 in the AHL in scoring for three of those four season.

Alongside his usual linemate Boychuk, Terry was a dominate force for the Charlotte organization. Of the Checkers' four seasons as an AHL franchise, he led the team in scoring in two of them and finished second during the other two. Terry also led the team in either goals or assists in each of those four seasons and never finished lower than fifth in either category.

Terry could also always be counted on to come through when the team needed him the most. He is the franchise leader in game-winning goals, holds the single-season game-winning goals record and is the franchise leader in shootout goals. Terry also combined with Boychuk to form a lethal powerplay unit. He holds the franchise-lead for powerplay goals and propeled an attack that never finished below fifth in the league in terms of powerplay percentage.

The left winger shined in the postseason as well, holding the franchise-lead in playoff goals and being one of six players to appear in all 21 playoff games. Terry also claimed a share of the team-lead in goals during the 2010-11 run that saw the Checkers advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, where he led all Charlotte skaters in points for the series.

Terry has been a mainstay in Charlotte and consistently contributed at an elite level during his entire tenure with the club. His constant production made him one of the more lethal offensive weapons in the AHL and made him the highest-voted player in this fan vote.
