The Checkers have recalled rookie winger Carter Sandlak from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

After spending the entirety of his rookie campaign with Charlotte, recording four points (2g, 2a) in 38 games, Sandlak was assigned to Florida on March 24. In three games with the Everblades, Sandlak recorded three assists and 14 penalty minutes while registering a plus 4 rating.

An undrafted left wing, Sandlak signed a three-year entry-level deal with Carolina in December 2013 after five seasons in the OHL with Guelph, Belleville and Plymouth. His most productive season came in his final junior campaign, when he put up 48 points (24g, 24a) in 61 games with the Whalers.
