The Canes made another trade Sunday, sending Scott Darling and a sixth-round pick to the Florida Panthers in exchange for goaltender James Reimer.
Darling, 30, appeared in 14 games for the Checkers last season, going 5-8-0 with a 3.40 goals against average and a .882 save percentage. The netminder also played 51 games over the last two seasons with Carolina.
Reimer, 31, has logged 337 NHL games over the last nine seasons with Toronto, San Jose and Florida.
