The Charlotte Checkers today announced that the start time for their game this Friday, Jan. 22, at Bojangles’ Coliseum has been moved to 7 p.m.
The change from the original time of 8 p.m. was made to alleviate traffic and parking concerns based on that night’s 8 p.m. showing of "Wicked" at neighboring Ovens Auditorium. As with all Friday and Saturday games at the coliseum, doors will open 90 minutes prior to the listed start time, in this case 5:30 p.m.
Tickets purchased prior to the time change may still be used for entry to the game with no additional action required on the part of the ticket holder. Ticket holders who have not already received notification from the Checkers that have questions or concerns may contact a ticket representative by calling (704) 342-4423.
This weekend’s games against Chicago conclude a six-game home stand for the Checkers, who have posted a 13-1-2 record since Dec. 9. As part of the team’s annual Race Weekend, Friday’s Pit Crew Night will feature an appearance by the No. 18 Sprint Cup champion Joe Gibbs Racing crew and Saturday’s Race Night will include appearances by Sprint Cup drivers Aric Almirola and Ryan Newman.
