Following last night's preseason game against Buffalo, the Hurricanes have assigned Patrick Brown to the Checkers.
Brown, an undrafted free agent out of Boston College, will begin his rookie season in Charlotte after appearing in four preseason games with Carolina. Brown won two national championships with the Golden Eagles during his collegiate career and served as team captain his senior season.
The Checkers' roster now sits at 25 as the team heads into their final preseason contest at Norfolk tonight.
