Brendan Woods is headed to Raleigh, as the Hurricanes have recalled the third-year forward from Charlotte.
This marks the third NHL recall for the 23-year-old and the first this season. Woods had two separate one-game stints with Carolina last season, going scoreless in both contests.
A fifth-round draft pick in 2012, Woods has put up 15 points (8g, 7a) in 48 games this season for the Checkers. In his three seasons with Charlotte, Woods has accumulated 53 points (26g, 27a) in 158 games, 30 of which came during his huge sophomore campaign.
Woods heads to the Hurricanes after they returned Derek Ryan and Brock McGinn to the Checkers earlier today. Both Carolina and Charlotte return to the ice Tuesday night, with the Checkers hosting the Chicago Wolves and the Hurricanes welcoming the Senators to town.
