As they head into tomorrow's game against the Devils, the Hurricanes have recalled Brendan Woods.
In his second professional season, Woods is tied for fourth on the team in scoring with 13 points (6g, 7a), already surpassing his career-high in goals and points in just 29 games. The 22-year-old has yet to make his NHL debut and this marks his first NHL call up.
A fifth-round pick in 2012, Woods played two seasons at the University of Wisconsin, helping the team capture a WCHA Tournament championship before joining the Checkers full-time for the 2013-14 campaign.
The Checkers' next game isn't until Saturday, December 27th in Texas, while Carolina plays tomorrow in New Jersey.
