Following his appearance in tonight’s contest, the Hurricanes have assigned Derek Ryan back to Charlotte.
The Checkers captain returns after appearing in the Hurricanes' 3-2 loss to Buffalo tonight. After scoring in his NHL debut on March 1, Ryan has logged three games with Carolina this season, recording one goal and two penalty minutes.
The 29-year-old center is expected to join the Checkers as they take on the Wolves tonight in Chicago. Ryan leads the team with 21 goals and 46 points and has three goals in his last two games with Charlotte.
