The Hurricanes have signed forward T.J. Hensick to a one-year, two-way contract.

The 29-year-old put up 60 points (19g, 41a) last season for Hamilton, leading the Bulldogs in scoring. Hensick has logged 438 career AHL games across eight seasons for Lake Erie, Peoria, Hartford and Hamilton, and has totaled 431 points (130g, 301a).

A former third-round pick by Colorado in 2005, Hensick has scored at least 60 points in five of his last six AHL seasons, with the one exception being 2013-14, when he only played 42 games for Hartford. He has also been selected to play in three AHL All-Star Games in his career.

Hensick also has 112 career NHL games under his belt, and, should he spend next year in Charlotte, could bring a strong veteran presence while being a solid offensive playmaker.
