The Carolina Hurricanes assigned forward Patrick Brown to the Checkers this morning.
The 23-year-old returns to Charlotte after a seven-game NHL stint, bringing his career total to 14 over his first two pro seasons, with a goal and an assist under his belt.
Brown, who has served as an alternate captain this season for the Checkers, has taken a huge step offensively this year, piling up 13 goals after just scoring two in his rookie year. Immediately prior to his recall, he had recorded seven points in his last nine games.
The Checkers welcome the Milwaukee Admirals to town for a pair of games this weekend with big playoff implications on the line, so the addition of Brown should help bolster their forward corps, which has gone through a lot of shuffling over the last month of the season.
