Clark Bishop headed back for Charlotte as the Hurricanes have assigned the forward to the AHL.
The third-year forward was recalled to Carolina on Wednesday but served as a healthy extra in last night’s loss to Detroit. Overall this season Bishop has logged a goal and an assist in 15 NHL games after making his debut earlier this year.
Bishop returns to the Checkers where he has appeared 13 games this season and put up five points (3g, 2a).
The Checkers have two more games on their slate before the holiday break, hosting Bridgeport tonight and Saturday, while the Canes have home games Saturday and Sunday.
