With Trevor Van Riemsdyk going down with injury, Carolina has recalled Jake Bean from Charlotte.
This is the second recall of the postseason for the blue liner, though he didn’t appear in any games during his last stint. Bean, the 13th overall pick in 2016, appeared in two contests for the Hurricanes this season.
Bean was a standout on the Charlotte blue line this year, racking up 44 points (13g, 31a) in 70 games and earning a spot on the AHL’s All-Rookie Team. The 20-year-old has also recorded a pair of assists in four games so far during the Checkers’ playoff run.
