Canes Send Brian Gibbons To Charlotte

The Checkers received a key piece back for the weekend on Friday as the Hurricanes have assigned Brian Gibbons to Charlotte.

The veteran forward has split his campaign thus far between the AHL and NHL, most recently appearing in the final two contests of Carolina’s road trip to bring his season total to 15 games.

Gibbons now returns to Charlotte where he has racked up 13 points (3g, 10a) in 14 games, including a pair of helpers in his most recent outing against Syracuse on Dec. 14.

The Checkers, who are coming off a sweep of the Hartford Wolf Pack, wrap up their final two games before the holiday break by hosting Lehigh Valley Saturday and Sunday.
