Julien Gauthier is headed back to the NHL, as the Hurricanes have recalled the forward from Charlotte.
Gauthier leads the Checkers with 10 goals in 22 games and has lit the lamp three times over Charlotte’s last three games. The 22-year-old made his NHL debut earlier this season and has appeared in two games for Carolina thus far.
The Checkers, who received Brian Gibbons and Clark Bishop from Carolina last night, kick off their home stand Friday against Syracuse, while the Hurricanes begin a five-game road trip Tuesday in Edmonton.
