The Checkers made a pair of moves ahead of their game in Hershey Friday, assigning forward Jacob Pritchard and goalie Jeremy Helvig to the ECHL’s Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
Pritchard has previously logged five games for the Swamp Rabbits this season, adding two goals and an assist along the way. The rookie, who debuted for the Checkers during the Cup run, has played six games for Charlotte this season.
Helvig appeared in three games for the struggling Jacksonville Icemen this season, going 0-3-0 with a 3.86 goals-against average and an .899 save percentage. The second-year netminder, who spent most of last season with the Florida Everblades and ranked third in the ECHL in goals-against average and tied for third in wins, will now join a Swamp Rabbits team that sits third in their division.
