The second annual Husqvarna “Old-Time Hockey Weekend” will take place over the course of two games on Saturday, March 15, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 16, at 1:30 p.m. when the Checkers host the Lake Erie Monsters.
At face value, taking one of a possible four points over the weekend isn’t the pace the Checkers will need to make up a seven-point gap in the Western Conference playoff race. That said, they aren’t particularly upset about their game.
After picking up a home victory over Norfolk, the Checkers concluded the first leg of their franchise-record run of 10 consecutive road games with a regulation loss and a shootout loss at the hands of the Texas Stars over the weekend.
