A hockey season is bound to have its ups and downs. The Checkers have experienced highs this year, highlighted by their franchise record 12-game point streak, but are currently embroiled in a low, spiraling into a nine-game winless streak that is also a franchise record.
The Carolina Hurricanes today announced that they have recalled goaltender Daniel Altshuller from Charlotte. To fill the subsequent spot on their roster, the Checkers have recalled fellow netminder Anthony Peters from their ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades.
The Checkers made a pair of roster moves ahead of their Wednesday rematch with San Antonio, recalling forward Carter Sandlak from the ECHL’s Florida Everblades and releasing defenseman Sean Escobedo from his professional tryout contract.
