The leap into the pro game is a big one, but the Checkers are using the remaining bit of their schedule to prepare those skaters for the next level. While several prospects have spent the last week practicing with the team, defenseman Brett Pesce is expected to take the next step with his professional debut tonight.
The Charlotte Checkers today announced that their first home game of the 2015-16 season at Bojangles’ Coliseum will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7. A start time will be announced at a later date.
The Checkers wrapped up their longest road trip of the season earlier this week on a high note, but then proceeded to kick off their longest home stand of the season with two dissapointing losses to Lake Erie.
With improved health and the expected addition of a prospect on the blue line this week, the Checkers released veteran defenseman Jordan Henry from his professional tryout contract on Monday.
