The Carolina Hurricanes have made several roster moves today that will shake up the Checkers' lineup heading into the weekend.

Forwards Phil Di Giuseppe and Brock McGinn and defenseman Jaccob Slavin have all been recalled to Carolina, while defenseman Ryan Murphy has been assigned to Charlotte.

This marks the first NHL recall for Di Giuseppe, a second-year pro out of the University of Michigan. The 22-year-old kicked off his sophomore season by racking up seven points in his first five games and currently ranks second on the team in scoring with 14 points (6g, 8a). Last season, Di Giuseppe ranked second among team rookies in scoring and fourth on the team overall.

McGinn will be joining the Hurricanes for the second time this season. The second-year pro made his NHL debut on Oct. 16 and scored his first goal on his first shift. McGinn spent 12 games with Carolina during that stint, totaling three points (2g, 1a). The 21-year-old has been an offensive force during his time in Charlotte this season, tying for second on the team with six goals in just 10 games.

Like McGinn, Slavin is making his second appearance with the Hurricanes this season. The rookie defenseman made his NHL debut on Nov. 20 and logged six games with Carolina, recording one assist. With Charlotte, Slavin has been a rock on the blue line, totaling seven points in 14 games and registering a team-best plus-six rating.

Swapping places for the third time in two weeks with Slavin is Ryan Murphy. The 22-year-old, who has four points in 18 games this season with the Hurricanes, spent two games with Charlotte last weekend after recovering from a concussion and came away with three points. The first-round pick has been a consistent producer in the AHL, with 44 points (4g, 40a) in 52 career games with the Checkers. He was also named to the AHL All Star Classic last season.
