The Charlotte Checkers have recalled netminder Callum Booth from the ECHL’s Florida Everblades.
This marks the first AHL recall for the rookie goaltender, who was selected by Carolina in the fourth round of the 2015 draft. Booth is 14-5-1 with the first-place Everblades this season while leading all league rookies with a 2.53 goals-against average.
The 20-year-old Booth led the QMJHL in save percentage last season and won a league title alongside Julien Gauthier with Saint John. He joins a Checkers team that has one game remaining on their current road trip, a Wednesday night tilt in Lehigh Valley, before returning to Charlotte this coming weekend.
