The Checkers recalled forward Steven Lorentz ahead of Sunday afternoon’s game in Bridgeport that will complete a stretch of three games in three days.
Lorentz, 22, leads the ECHL’s Florida Everblades with 11 points (4g, 7a) in 10 games – a significantly higher scoring pace than the 35 points he managed in 62 outings as a rookie last season. The Carolina Hurricanes’ seventh-round draft choice in 2015, Lorentz also has three AHL games with Charlotte under his belt, all of which took place last season.
A 6-foot-4, 201-pound center, Lorentz will also be playing his third game in three days, having posted a goal and an assist in each of Florida’s wins over Jacksonville on Friday and Saturday.
