The Checkers will get center Clark Bishop back for Wednesday’s rematch against Belleville.
Bishop heads back to Charlotte after playing five NHL games in his most recent stint with the parent club in Carolina, bringing his total up to seven for both this season and his career. In a corresponding move, the Checkers reassigned forward Steven Lorentz to the ECHL’s Florida Everblades.
Even with Patrick Brown and Spencer Smallman not expected to return from injury, the move leaves the Checkers with two healthy extras at forward position as they aim to avenge Tuesday’s 5-1 loss to Belleville.
Lorentz, who was the Everblades’ leading scorer at the time of his Nov. 11 recall to Charlotte, played in three games with the Checkers and recorded his first AHL point with an assist on Nov. 17.
