Lucas Wallmark is off to the NHL as the Hurricanes have recalled the forward from Charlotte.
This marks the third NHL recall this season for Wallmark, who has logged four games with Carolina this season to bring his career total to three points (1g, 2a) in 12 NHL games. With the Checkers, Wallmark has amassed 36 points (13g, 23a) in 34 AHL games this season.
The Hurricanes return to action Sunday at home against New Jersey and then are off until Friday, while the Checkers have a two-game set this weekend against the Syracuse Crunch starting tonight at 6 p.m.
