Hurricanes Return Zykov To Charlotte

Valentin Zykov is headed back to Charlotte after being re-assigned Monday evening.

The forward did not appear in a game for Carolina after getting his first NHL recall of the season on Sunday.

Zykov leads the AHL in goals and became the first Russian-born 30-goal scorer in the AHL since 2008-09 over the weekend. He currently sits at 48 points (30g, 18a) in 57 games for Charlotte this season.

The Checkers return to action tomorrow to kick off a two-game set against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
