The Florida Panthers signed forward Juho Lammikko to a one-year, two-way contract on Tuesday.
Lammikko, originally a third-round draft pick of the Panthers in 2014, returns to the organization after spending all of last season with Karpat in his native Finland, where he ranked second on the team with 51 points (22g, 29a) in 57 games. Prior to that, the 24 year old played his first three professional seasons in North America, splitting time between the Panthers and AHL Springfield.
Lammikko (6’2”, 191 pounds) has already begun play on the 2020-21 season, posting eight points (6g, 2a) in 22 games with Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the KHL.
In 143 career AHL games with Springfield and Portland, Lammikko totaled 57 points (20g, 37a). He also played 40 NHL games with Florida during the 2018-19 season, recording six assists.
Lammikko, who totaled 99 points (40g, 59a) in 123 career junior hockey games with the Ontario Hockey League’s Kingston Frontenacs, has won gold medals with Finland at the 2016 World Junior Championship and 2019 World Championship.
