The Panthers have locked up their lone remaining restricted free agent – and he’s a familiar one to Charlotte fans – signing Chase Priskie to a one-year, two-way contract.
The 25-year-old blueliner is heading into his third pro season, having compiled 42 points (11g, 31a) in 72 career AHL games.
Priskie racked up 31 points (6g, 25a) in 52 games as a rookie for the Checkers in 2019-20 before being traded by Carolina to Florida as part of their deadline deal for Vincent Trocheck. Priskie recorded four points (2g, 2a) in five games with Springfield to finish that season, then logged seven points (3g, 4a) in 15 games in 2020-21 as a member of the Syracuse Crunch, who served as Florida’s affiliate during the shortened season.
Prior to turning pro, Priskie posted 116 points (39g, 77a) in 154 games over four seasons at Qunnipiac, including a 39-point senior year that made him a Hobey Baker Award Finalist. Originally a sixth-round pick by Washington in 2016, Priskie would go on to sign his first pro contract with Carolina.
