Needing another forward to fill out their roster for a pair of games in Oklahoma City, the Checkers have recalled forward Kyle Bonis from the ECHL’s Florida Everblades.
The inaugural “Bowl with the Checkers” charity event at Strike City EpiCentre on Saturday, Feb. 8, which includes bowling with your favorite players, shoe rental, pizza, soda, games and prizes, is now sold out!
At the end of the day, the Checkers’ goal is to get as many players to the NHL as possible. While the Carolina Hurricanes made a total of 81 recalls involving 26 different players in Charlotte’s first three AHL seasons, this is the first in which the longer-term fruits of that labor are beginning to show.
