The events and fundraisers were held throughout Charlotte and included volunteering at Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, Classroom Central and the Humane Society of Charlotte, among many more local non-profit organizations. Additionally, more than $7,000 was raised at the Checkers’ annual Golf Classic and 672 pounds of food were collected at a Checkers season ticket holder watch party, which can be used to feed more than 400 individuals.The program began on Saturday, Oct. 20, with a cornhole tournament at the Gin Mill, benefiting Sidekicks Mentoring, and culminated with a public skate for Special Olympics at Extreme Ice Center on Saturday, Nov. 3.
