Assistant Coach
Bobby Sanguinetti joined the Checkers staff as an assistant coach on Aug. 29, 2022.As a player Sanguinetti appeared in 155 contests for the Checkers and helped the team capture a Calder Cup in 2018-19. He stands as the fifth highest scoring defenseman in franchise history, is the only Charlotte blue liner to hit the 40-assist mark in a season and one of two to record 50 points.
A first-round pick by the New York Rangers in 2006, Sanguinetti logged nearly 600 pro games over his playing career - suiting up for Hartford, Charlotte, Utica and Rochester in the AHL, the New York Rangers and Carolina in the NHL, Moscow Oblast Atlant in the KHL, Kloten HC and Lugano in the top Swiss league and Munich EHC in Germany before retiring after the 2019-20 season. He also represented the United States at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
