The Checkers battled in Game 4 of the Calder Cup Finals but couldn’t quite claw their way back into it, falling 3-2 as the Canucks took a 3-1 series lead.
For the second consecutive game in the Calder Cup Finals, it took more than 60 minutes to find a winner. But this time it was the Checkers who came out on top thanks to a missile from Mike Benning.
The Checkers kept their playoff run rolling with a sweep of Laval in the Eastern Conference Finals, and now they’ll battle the Abbotsford Canucks for the ultimate prize in the Calder Cup Finals.
