After taking over offensively in Charlotte’s first two games of the season, Aidan McDonough has been named the Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Player of the Week.
The Checkers won with a shutout by Ken Appleby as Aiden McDonough scored early in the second period and Rasmus Asplund rounded it out in the third with both a power-play and an empty-net goal.
In an incredible comeback, the Checkers took the win 7-6 in their season opener on the road against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins powered by Aiden McDonough's hat trick.
