The fan-favorite Tip-A-Checker event, in which Checkers players take on the role of servers and bartenders for the night, is making its return on April 15 at Ed’s Tavern in Dilworth.
It was a week of tight battles on the road for the Checkers, who bounced back from a tough start to sweep the Wolf Pack and bank key points in the playoff race.
The Florida Panthers have assigned goaltender Kirill Gerasimyuk from the ECHL’s Savannah Ghost Pirates to the Checkers.
Gerasimyuk, 22, is 8-6-1 in his rookie campaign with the Checkers, sporting a 2.45 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage. The St. Petersburg, Russia, native leads all AHL rookies with four shutouts, setting a single-season rookie franchise record for Charlotte.
He is 3-3-1 with a 2.22 GAA and a .918 save percentage with the Ghost Pirates in 2025-26.
Louis Domingue led the way with 26 saves as the Charlotte Checkers (39-21-5-0) beat the Hartford Wolf Pack (24-32-5-3) 2-1 in a shootout on Sunday afternoon at PeoplesBank Arena.
