The Florida Panthers have recalled forward Nolan Foote from the Checkers.
Foote, 25, has played in 54 games with Charlotte this season, scoring 14 goals and adding 18 assists, ranking fourth among Checkers in points (32). The Denver, CO, native is in the midst of his sixth professional campaign, compiling 161 points (76 goals, 85 assists) in 245 AHL games with the Checkers, Binghamton Devils and Utica Comets.
In addition, Foote has suited up in 30 NHL games with the New Jersey Devils, registering six goals and three assists. His most recent NHL appearance came on April 16, 2025.
The Checkers snuffed out the Islanders for the second consecutive contest Saturday night, blanking Bridgeport 2-0 to claim a series sweep and extend their winning streak to five games.
The Florida Panthers have recalled defenseman Mike Benning from the Checkers.
Benning, 24, has skated in all 56 games for Charlotte this season, scoring eight goals and adding 23 assists. The St. Albert, AB, native leads the Checkers in assists, ranking fifth on the team in points (31).
The right-handed defenseman is in his third pro season and has appeared in 182 AHL games, recording 89 points (26 goals, 63 assists). Benning has spent all his professional career in Charlotte; he has not yet made his NHL debut.
The Panthers selected Benning with the 95th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Before joining the Checkers, Benning spent three seasons at the University of Denver, winning a national championship with the Pioneers in 2021-22.
